About Datsun Redi-Go

The Datsun Redi-GO is the second vehicle to be built on the Renault-Nissan Alliance's CMF-A platform. The Renault Kwid was the first product to be developed on this platform.
Although introduced by Datsun as a budget hatchback, the 'tall boy' design with higher seating provisions makes it stand out among other hatchbacks at this price range. The outstanding exterior, premium design, and comfort make it feel more like a mini-SUV.

The Design

The exterior of the Redi-GO looks attractive and sporty. On the front, it has a hexagonal grille with a large Datsun logo, a signature design element of Datsun.
The Datsun Redi-GO is built with a similar platform, same engine, and gearbox as that of the Renault Kwid. Despite having a similar suspension, Datsun has tried to make the product distinct by making few key changes. As compared to the Kwid, the Redi-GO is thinner and taller.
The ground clearance of 185 mm is one of the most attractive features of the Redi-GO, especially because it provides an SUV-like ground clearance at this price point. The 'tall boy' design means that the seating positions are higher than in other hatchbacks allowing the driver to have a good view of the road ahead.
The 14-inch wheels with pentablade wheel covers, internally adjustable body colour ORVMs, LED Angular tail lamps, and sharply designed daylight running headlamps with integrated indicators add additional boldness to the vehicle. Engine and Mileage

The Redi-GO comes with two petrol engine options: a 0.8-litre and a 1.0-litre, the latter with the option of an AMT auto transmission. The base model comes with a 799 cc engine that produces a maximum output of 54 hp at 5678 rpm and a maximum torque of 72 Nm at 4368 rpm.
One of the most appealing features of the Redi-GO has to be its fuel efficiency. With a 28-litre fuel tank and over 25 kmpl of mileage, you can go on a long drive without having to worry about running out of fuel.
The Redi-GO provides a max speed of 140 kmph. Provided with a 5-speed manual gearbox, it can go from 0 to 100 kmph in 15.9 sec.


The Redi-GO is really spacious and provides a comfortable driving experience for both the driver and the passengers. Datsun has designed the vehicle keeping in mind the comfort of the passengers in the back-seat as well. The front seats are made thinner so there is more legroom at the back.
The dashboard is provided with AC controllers and an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple carplay. A 12V charging socket is provided with a USB plug to charge your mobile devices. The buttons to control the windows and to lock the car are also provided in the dashboard.
The Redi-GO comes with a reverse parking assist camera with a projection guide so that you always park with confidence.
The air-conditioning is really impressive for this price range. Datsun has provided a dedicated throw of AC at the back, so travellers in the back-seat no longer have to complain about the AC not reaching them.
The boot space of 222 litres means there is ample room to place your luggage and other goods.


Datsun has made safety a priority. The braking is quite good in the Redi-GO which comes with ABS with EBD. Provided with two airbags in the front seat and a seat-belt reminder, you can be completely assured while driving.
